I am currently an Assistant Professor of International Development and Middle-East Economics at the 
Graduate School of International and Area Studies, 
Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS), Seoul, South Korea. 

I am also a research fellow at Economic Research Forum, a research associate at Marburg Center for Institutional Economics, Philipps-University Marburg, and an associate staff member at the "Master in Law and Economics of the Arab Region" program at Hamburg University's Institute of Law and Economics.

My areas of primary interest include Institutional Economics of Muslim-majority Countries, Law and Economics of Islam, Economics of Crime and Terrorism, Economics of Religion, Economic History, and Islamic Constitutionalism.
