Summary of observation details (Explain how you first saw the bird, how long you watched it for, at what point you identified it and how, etc):
Ringkasan pemerhatian (Sila terangkan bagaimana anda melihat burung tersebut untuk kali pertama, berapa lama anda memerhatinya dan sebagainya)
Give a description of the events as they happened. Where were you? Explain briefly the viewing conditions. How did you first see the bird? What did you notice about it? What did you do then? What did you do while the bird was in view? After it had left?
Detailed Description:
1. HABITAT AND BEHAVIOUR
3. PHYSICAL APPEARANCE
2. SIZE AND SHAPE (in comparison to other species present where possible)
Describe the habitat in the locality (e.g recently harvested paddyfields, a small patch of recreational forest, etc). What did the bird do while you were watching it? Did anything strike you as distinctive about the behaviour (E.g. wing-flicking, tail-bobbing, diving, turning over leaves, etc.). Did it interact with other birds? Was it aggressive? Was it shunned by other birds? How did it feed? What was its flight action like? Did it call often? Never? When taking flight? etc
Give your impressions about how big the bird was. Were there any other known species nearby to compare it with? What did it remind you of? Was it long-necked or hunched? Pot-bellied and fat, or slim and elegant? Long or short-legged/winged/billed, etc
4. VOCALIZATIONS (state whether recordings were made)
If the bird called or sang, try to describe these vocalizations. This is especially important for certain groups of species like warblers and pipits. Include recordings of calls or video clips on which the bird called.
5. IDENTIFICATION (mention possible confusion species, especially commoner ones, and how these were eliminated)
Mention all species which could be confused with this one, especially species which occur more commonly. Explain how you could tell that the bird in question was not any of these species. (E.g. For a description of a Pectoral Sandpiper, you would want to mention and explain why it was not a Wood Sandpiper or Long-toed Stint, and well as other rarer species such as Sharp-tailed Sandpiper, or Ruff).
Is this identification 100% certain?
