Structured vs.
Balanced Literacy

This presentation will describe the difference between different aspects of literacy in a structured literacy setting versus a balanced literacy setting. There will also be some data showing how effective structured literacy really is. 

Ashley Lund taught for ten years in the Beaverton School District, a large district outside of Portland, OR. She has her Master's in Curriculum and Instruction as well as training in the Orton-Gillingham Method. She is currently the Director of Testing with The Reading Center as well as an Academic Language Therapist.
