Exploring Wheels and Axles (3-6) 1:30-3:30 pm

Use this activity to prepare students for any type of vehicle engineering and get them to think about process vs. product. Participate in a three-dimensional group brainstorm using a variety of tools and materials; create an easy tool to help kids find the center of any circle.

About the presenter - Martha Hotchkiss has worked as a STEM Educator at The Works Museum in Bloomington for over five years. She teaches engineering workshops to children ages 3-12, and has presented teacher professional development workshops for Osseo Area Schools and the E4 conference, among others. She was a classroom teacher for over 8 years, teaching first and second grade as well as Spanish/English Immersion in St. Paul Public Schools, Richfield Public Schools, and public schools in Oregon.
