Common Core Reading

This keynote presentation will address the MN English Language Arts Common Core Standards and how your faculty may use them to enhance planning your reading curriculum. The follow-up sectionals will focus on applying the MN English Language Arts Common Core Standards to your instruction.

About the presenters

Dr. Cynthia Whaley - Dr. Whaley currently teaches literacy and curriculum courses at MLC at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. She is also the Licensure Officer at MLC and works with both undergraduates during their literacy clinical experiences and post-baccalaureate teachers in their professional experiences in the public schools.

Prof. Jon Roux - Jon Roux currently teaches Teaching Language Arts and Children's Literature courses at MLC and is completing his PhD in Literacy at the University of MN. The focus of his dissertation is the implementation of literacy standards.
