Concert Attire

Each spring semester, the band students dress in formal performance attire called “concert attire”. This consists of the following:

A). Black slacks/tuxedo pants, black collared coat/blazer, black long sleeve dress shirt/blouse, black neck tie, black socks/tights, black dress shoes

B). Black floor-length formal dress or floor-length skirt paired with a long-sleeve black top or sweater. Black tights and black dress shoes

We will have a “tuxedo and dress swap” soon. Anyone wanting to trade a gently used tuxedo or formal dress can email Tracy Noteware (uniform chair) at: uniforms1@mmimb.org. Any tuxedos or dresses that are not exchanged for another, can be purchased by anyone for $50 or a mutually agreed amount.

In the Director's Corner

The end of the semester is here. We will have block classes and early release (1:32 pm) Wednesday through Friday this week. Period 0 will not meet on finals days. Beginning next week, Period 0 will continue on Tuesday - Friday (no Mondays) with all 9th graders, Color Guard, and students who are participating in Jazz Band. All others in band will continue with their Period 1 - 6 classes.

What a great fall semester this has been! There were times we weren't sure how we would get through marching season with all of the needs necessary to find our layers of success, but we did. I am grateful to each parent and staff member who gave the Sapphire Sound your time and your talent. Your “all in” attitude helped us push through and we wouldn't have been able to do this semester without your help. Thank you!

The Rose Parade was a moment we will always look back on with pride. Mira Mesa High School, the community, and City of San Diego have a lot to be proud of. Thank you students and staff for a fantastic experience!

Have a great week! Study, eat well, stay healthy, and be “All in”.

💙💛, Mrs. C
