It's Pancake Breakfast Week!

Pancake Breakfast: 

We will be hosting our Annual  "Breakfast on the Mesa" Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser this Saturday, September 23 from 7:00 - 11:30 am in the Media Center. Tickets are $10 each. The Band will perform every half-hour, so invite your family, neighbors, and friends. Students can bring in payments for tickets and Mrs. C will give issue the tickets to the students. We encourage each student to sell at least 4 tickets if possible. Gluten Free Pancakes will also be available!

Pancake Breakfast: Call time in CLASS B attire is 6:30 am for ALL Band and Color Guard students.

Pancake Breakfast Support

Parents can help us set up the evening before, cook bacon, and bring it the morning of the event, help us set up, cook and clean up the day of. We are usually done cleaning up by 12:30 pm. If you are available to assist in any way, including donating 1-2 lbs of bacon or a gallon of orange juice, please contact Scott Pence at: or 619-602-9654 by Wednesday (9/20) .

We hope you and your family and friends will be able to join us for breakfast this Saturday. Go directly into breakfast by pre-purchasing a $10 ticket.

Students will be wearing their Class B (Blue polo, black slacks, black socks and marching shoes, hair pulled back)

Color Guard: Sectionals on Tuesday & Wednesday 2:45 - 4:45pm

Woodwinds: Rehearsal Monday 1:45 - 3:15 pm

BrassBrass Rehearsal Wednesday 2:45 - 4:45 pm

Percussion: Sectionals Monday & Wednesday 2:45 - 4:30 pm

All Band & Color Guard: Thursday Night Rehearsal 5:00 - 9:00 pm

We are looking for help with our Props:

For those of you that have been able to come out on a Thursday night or to last Friday's game against Scripps Ranch HS, you have probably noticed that we have something that we call "props" involved with the field show. The poles that we are currently practicing with are just part of the props. We will have screens on the front sidelines and on top of all the poles, we are building "paper" airplanes. These airplanes are not small, nor are they simple to make. Our Band and Color Guard parents have been working many nights and weekends building these different sized planes and supports. We still have a lot of work to do and we are asking for help. At this point is it a lot of cutting, gluing, and taping the plastic and foam core. This week parents will meet most every evening after 6:00 pm by the storage sheds on the west end of the school property.

You may have also noticed it takes a small army to get everything set up for a performance on the field. The kids have to get everything on the field from the sidelines, but staging before, dragging them to the edge, and removing afterwards takes a lot of support people. We will need consistency in our organization, so please also let the equipment team know whether you can regularly help during tournament season and Thursday nights when they are practicing. Reminder to email Troy Arnett:

When's the next Parent Meeting in the Theatre?

Our next Parent/Guardian Booster meeting will be on Wednesday, September 27 immediately after Open House in the MMHS Theater from 7:30 - 8:30 pm. Please join us for updated information on our upcoming events.   


Cherrydale Farms orders are due WEDNESDAY, SEPT 20. All order forms and payments (check made payable to: MMIMB) are due for this fundraiser on Wednesday.

Thursday Night Restaurant Fundraiser this week is at Chick- Fil-A in Mira Mesa off of Camino Ruiz on the edge of the Mira Mesa Mall. 

Wrap-up from the Football Game on Friday (9/15):

We had a great time at Friday night's football game. Despite the bus challenges, everyone did a great job of hustling to get to where we needed to be and it was fun to be able to perform at half time. Thank you to the chaperones and equipment parents who helped load and unload buses and trucks. The next bus ride and equipment needs will be on Saturday, September 30 for the SDSU HS Band Night at the Stadium.

Home Tournament (11/4/2017) Sponsorships/Ads:

Questions for you:
1. Do you own your own company? Or work for a company that would like to purchase an ad or sponsor a trophy in our program for our home tournament on November 4th?
2. Are you a family who would like to place an ad message of congratulations for your student or even sponsor a trophy? Ads range from business card to full page for $40-150. Trophies are available for $150-300.
3. Have a little extra time to volunteer? One other way you can help us is to contact our neighborhood businesses to offer trophy sponsorships or ads.
