Please bring a three-ring binder with you to hold your music. Pencils, water containers, and a instrument will be needed. If you need a school-owned instrument, please complete the registration form below. Email Mrs. Christensen if you need assistance with any of the items listed. (Email: jchristensen1@sandi.net)

July Open Room Days & Uniform Sizing

July Open Room Days & Formal Band Uniform Sizing: July 24 - 25 - The room will open at 2:00 pm each day. These days are for students in the Sapphire Sound to come visit with one another and relax. No pressure and only fun is allowed!

To size for our formal band uniform, students need to wear athletic shorts or leggings, a t-shirt, socks and sneakers. Bring a hair tie if hair is long. Sizing usually takes an hour.

Sapphire Sound Fall Camp

Sapphire Sound Fall Camp: July 29 - August 2 and August 5 - 9 from 2:00 - 9:00 pm at Mira Mesa HS. All students in the Marching Band and Color Guard are to attend these two weeks. There are two blocks of rehearsal. Block #1 is Music, followed by dinner each evening. Block #2 focuses on marching.

Students should have blue athletic shorts or leggings, a black t-shirt (print or design on it is fine), athletic shoes, instrument, 3-ring binder, pencil, and a water container with them each day. Please let Mrs. C know if you have any questions or need assistance with instruments (see registration form below), binders, etc.

REGISTRATION FORM for Band & Color Guard

Please complete this REGISTRATION FORM for the fall semester. All current and incoming Band and Color Guard members need to complete this form.

On this form, instrument needs are also listed, so we will begin to check out instruments at school during June Camp and into July and August based on availability.

Fundraisers and Hawaii!

We need to raise money for this next school year! We have a BIG trip to Hawaii in December (see link below) and all of the other traditional activities and events we do throughout the year need funding.

FUNDRAISERS:

PARKING LOT FUNDRAISER: Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23 we will accept donations for the program in our both of our parking lots. The Lao Food Festival will be happening across the street and they are partnering with the Sapphire Sound to help us raise funds. We need volunteers to work the driveways for the event each day. It would be great to have a team of adults and students at each lot. Please consider volunteering for a 2 (or more) hour shift. If you are able to help, please email Jeanette Crutchfield, booster president, at: president@mmimb.org

GIFT CARDS (Virtual): Rather shop online? Shop anytime online with RaiseRight. This is an easy way to help support our program. RaiseRight is the same as gift cards, but virtual and easy to use. Go to the website, sign up, and select, “Join a Program”, then put in our group code: 9ED4DA7733861.

In the Director's Corner

It's the first official week of summer break! Enjoy! If you are in town, come by the Band room to check in with Mrs. C and our staff members. The times are listed above in the first section. After this week's camps and rehearsals, we will take a well-deserved break for a few weeks.

The newsletter will go on a “summer” schedule soon, so you will receive a newsletter every other week. Have a great week!

All In, Always.

💙💛,

Mrs. C
