IEEE Governance:
IEEE is led by a diverse body of elected and appointed volunteer members. The governance structure includes boards for operational areas as well as bodies representing members in the 45 societies and technical councils and ten worldwide geographic regions.
Since October 2007, I served with IEEE as:
Region8 Student Branch Coordinator
Coordinating about 330+ branch's operations in Region8 (Europe, Africa and Middle East).
Part of Region8 Student Activities Committee, in order to Voicing the concerns and need of roughly 20,000 Student and Graduate Student members of the IEEE in Region8.
Coordinating Membership Development roles in Region8 on Student members’ level.
Involved in organization and administration of many programs and contests in Region8 like IEEE DAY, IEEE Promotional Multimedia Contest, IEEE Region8 logo contest & many other programs.
Presented a workshop under the title of “Event Management” through the IEEE Student Branch and GOLD Congress 2010, Belgium.
Was a speaker in IEEE SBC 2010, IEEE Region8 Meeting, & other IEEE events as a reporter on behalf of Region8 student activities committee.
Mentor, IEEE Princess Sumaya University for Technology Student Branch
Supervising and providing guidance to IEEE PSUT Student Branch Organizing Committee, and serve as a liaison between the Student members and Section Executive.
Involved in organization most of 2010 events as a main leader and organizer.
Led many of PSUT Student Branch meetings.
Was a speaker for many IEEE PSUT events, talking about IEEE history and IEEE Membership benefits.
Founder and Leader of Initiative, IEEE Middle East Student Branch Congress
Through my direct leadership to the event’s committee, we have achieved:
Established an initiative that was granted the support and sponsorship of three major IEEE bodies; The New Initiatives Committee, Member and Geographic Activities Committee and Region 8.
Fundraised a budget of USD$40,000 through obtaining grants and sponsorships from NGO’s and the Industry.
Was the first student to ever receive a Seed Grant from IEEE’s New Initiatives Committee.
Established strategic partnerships with leading institutions in the Middle East such as Texas A&M University at Qatar.
Led and coordinated a team of 70 volunteers to organize and run the event.
Chairman, IEEE Princess Sumaya University for Technology Student Branch
Through my direct leadership to PSUT branch, we have achieved:
Led the branch to be recognized by the President of PSUT and the Dean of Student Affairs as most influential student organization at PSUT and to be allocated a whole floor for its offices in the newly built student activities building.
Led the branch to increase memberships by 10 folds (1000%) and increase revenues by 10 folds (1000%).
Conducted many programs and organized numerous major events such as the Second National Technology Parade.
Established 4 Student Branches(German Jordanian University SB – Jordan, Applied Science University SB – Jordan, Philadelphia University - Jordan, Taibah University – Saudi Arabia) and Reactivated 1 Student Branch (Hashemite University SB – Jordan).
Established the Culture Bridge Program at PSUT, and that includes Teaching language Course, Student exchange program, and student enrichment program.
Established Women In Engineering Affinity Group ‘WIE’ at PSUT.
Established the Teaching Assistance Program at my University.
Organized a trip to Taibah University – Saudi Arabia.
Organizing an Industry Trip to Turkey + participating in Turkey Congress 2009.
Fund raised a budget of USD $ 43,000 from many activities and Sponsorships.
Successfully Participated in IEEE Region8 Student Branch and Gold Congress ‘SBC2008’.
