Several violins made by Mike Danielson or revived by him are currently for sale. They range from $1,000 to $3,000. (WA business tax will be added on.)
The bows (cello, violin, and viola) are based on Tonkin Bamboo, the wood of fine fly rods. Pernambuco wood has been the ideal wood for bows, but it is no longer available due to overuse. Tonkin bamboo has similar material properies to pernambuco. The materials used in the construction DO NOT include pernambuco wood, ivory tip plate and other decorative ornamentation, or ebony. These endangered materials will not travel through customs to many other countries due to the CITES rules.
