The MIT Rowing Club (MITRC) is a co-ed club team open to all affiliates of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, including graduate students, undergraduates, post docs, alumni, faculty, staff, and other MIT-affiliates united by a dedication to rowing on one of the sport's most storied waterways, the Charles River. During the spring, summer, and fall seasons, we hold practice on the water from 6-8 AM, M-F at MIT's Pierce Boathouse. During the winter, training sessions are held at MIT's Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center. We welcome anyone who has an interest in sweep rowing. At this time we do not offer opportunities for sculling.
MITRC offers programs for all experience levels, from novice to experienced, and all levels of commitment, from recreational to competitive. We offer a learn-to-row novice program for beginners during the summer and fall seasons. Recreational rowers are welcome to participate as many or as few times a week as they like. We send competitive crews to several regattas throughout the year, including the Head of the Charles.
