At Peaceful Heart Preschool & Kindergarten, we guide young children to be the most vibrant version of themselves. We hold a space where children are seen, heard and respected as the whole and wise humans they are, all while learning nuanced and heart-filled skills of being in community.
We enroll children ages 3 - 6 for our preschool, Pre-K and Kindergarten programs.
What we're about:
Yoga, mindfulness & plenty of time to bask in nature, art & music to honor the wisdom and growth of the whole human.
Hand in Hand Parenting approach among others, for support with emotional well-being from a place of connection and relationship.
Stellar social skills that Congress could learn from ;)
Academics like literacy and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) are explored through movement, art, stories, games, songs, and extended projects, creating meaningful and authentic opportunities to develop these skills.
Organic foods, no chemicals, a calm and organized environment, lots of movement and outside play for a healthy preschool experience.
A personalized experience with compassionate, attuned teachers who are highly experienced and passionate about early childhood education.
*****
Miss Jess, owner, director and lead teacher, has been tuning into young children as a preschool teacher for 12 years (and older children for 8 years prior to that) observing and learning about their spirits. She is an intuitive energy worker, student of non-violent communication and Possibility Management (study of using feeling energy consciously), a 500hr trained yoga teacher, and finishing a certification program to be an instructor with Hand in Hand Parenting. These tools, along with a lifelong passion for honoring young people, have guided her approach to holding a space where children can shine.

Preschool Application Process:
To apply, please fill out and submit the 2026 application form above when it's ready in February. You will see a confirmation message after submitting and PHP will be in touch via email within 48 hours to establish connection.
We will be contacting you to offer your child a spot or put you on the waitlist (we will be in touch either way) during the first couple weeks of February.
If you have a deadline with another school that you are considering, and you haven't yet heard from us, please reach out to us before making your decision, as we may know already if we have a spot for your child before we start communicating with families, even if we don't have our official acceptance letters and schedules ready yet.
If we have not yet met you, we will ask that you and your child schedule a visit to our school prior to enrolling you in the program. This can be accomplished either at an open house, or scheduled individually, before or after applying.
We accept families in the following order:
1. Current preschool students and siblings
2. Siblings from past students
3. Families on our pre-registration list
4. New families
Acceptance is based on the following combination of factors: The order of applications received, whether we will be a good fit for your child and your family based on our approach to preschool, and our dedication to accepting a diverse group of children (racial, socio-economic, gender, family structure, etc).
There is no fee required to apply. If and when you are offered a spot, we will walk you through the enrollment process which will require a $75 registration fee ($25 for returning students, $50 for a sibling). A non-refundable tuition deposit of $300 will be due on March 4, 2026.

2026 - 27 School Year
Tuesday , Wednesday and Thursday; 9am - 3pm.

Schedule considerations:
We will mostly follow the public school calendar. A detailed calendar will be available as soon as MCPS releases their 2026-27 calendar.
We are tentatively planning to start school on the Tuesday following Labor Day, but will announce a start day for sure once MCPS releases their calendar.
Each class will have a maximum of 14 children enrolled each day; and a minimum of 2 teachers present.

Would you like to donate to our Preschool Scholarship Fund?
We try hard to keep our prices affordable and offer scholarship to families who need it. But we can use some help! Even a small donation can be so helpful for a preschool family. We are currently building up a scholarship fund for the 2022-23 school year. We are not a "non-profit" (for the sake of keeping things simple) but we put all of our profits back into the school or add them to our scholarship fund. If you are interested, you can send us a check and a note to 825 Marshall St., Missoula, MT 59801. Get in touch with questions or for more information! Jess: 406-239-9642; jess2breathe@gmail.com. Thank you!
