IMPORTANT GUIDELINE INFORMATION FOR TRY-OUTS AND PERFORMANCE
General Information:
No more than two routines per performer. We strongly encourage group routines.
Each routine should be two minutes or less. Please cut music accordingly.
All routines MUST be complete at the try-outs, with all members in attendance, or they will not be allowed to try-out at that time.
Attendance at your audition time and the dress rehearsal are mandatory to properly prepare for the show.
Please plan to stay for the entire show!
All talent show participants must be current students of Mira Catalina.
This year there will be one performance:Â
Friday, May 16 at 6pm
Music:
Music should be sent via email no later than April 1st or you must bring the prepared music on CD. No music will be played from phones.
All music must be age/school appropriate
Please have music cut to the two minute maximum time limit before auditions. If you need assistance send a request via email by March 20th and we will try to help.
Dress:
Please plan to look your best.
Be in full costume for the dress rehearsal. This is our only opportunity to set lights. With the new lighting system we have options, so please adhere to this request.
Equipment:
Mira Catalina has multiple wireless microphones with stands. They also have an electric keyboard, various music stands and chairs. If you need anything beyond this list please email us your needs prior to April 1st so we can see if there are other options available. We do not guarantee anything additional will be purchased or rented so please plan around the equipment that is available.
Please bring all props to the auditions and dress rehearsal.
Auditions:
Auditions are April 15th at 3:30pm. Please sign in once you arrive to the MPR and wait outside until your child is called. When working with so many young performers various things can happen which may alter the schedule. We will do our best to adhere to the set times. The routines must be finished and music ready so we can move through the auditions quickly. Be creative!!
Dress Rehearsal:
Dress rehearsal is Wednesday, May 14th at 3:30pm. It is a full run of the show. It gives the MC's a chance to practice their dialog and the stage crew an opportunity to practice the logistics (curtains, lights, sound, props, etc). Once your child has completed their portion they are free to leave (this applies to the dress rehearsal only...we encourage and expect all to give the same respect to each other by watching the entire performance on show day). Please have your child arrive in full costume with all props needed. The dress rehearsal must be run in show order...no exceptions.
Photography:
Keeping with tradition, we will have a photo chair in the front so one parent from each act can move forward to get the best pictures of that group/act. We will also have a photographer and videographer shooting the show.
Cake:
At the end of the show we ask that all performers be part of the group picture on stage. This will be immediately followed by a special congratulations treat. Don't miss out!
