IMAGINATION
First Week: Students were introduced to Abstract Artist: Jean Michel Basquiat, Pablo Picasso and African Art.
Then shown works of art below and asked to choose either painting A or B to...Title and write about.
CREATIVE THINKING
This practice is designed for the viewer to use his or her imagination. Take time to look beyond
the surface into the depth of the painting, connecting shapes and assembling colors to create
images throughout the painting. The more you view the painting, the more unfolds.

I see houses with windows. I see windows

I see skyscrapers, signs, lights and people. The shapes help the
painting get better. Without the shapes the painting will get worse.

One day I saw the picture. It looked pretty and could be a
painter. Then it could be New York City. I wanted to paint it.

I call it Bamo because it is very cool. It has squares,
circles and a body. It has a moon, oval, and a rectangle.
