Outreach

I enjoy working with middle and high school students and have a broad experience in promoting mathematical education and research on local

and international levels.

International Tournament of Young Mathematicians

The Iternational Tournament of Young Mathematicians (ITYM) is a team competition for high school students from all over the world. Its purpose is to stimulate interest in mathematics and its applications, to develop scientific thinking, communication skills and teamwork. In contrast to olympiads, the problems for the tournament are published several months in advance and contain parts with no known solution. During the tournament the participating students present their results in a kind of research debate involving Reporter, Opponent, Reviewer and Observer. The ITYM is supported by leading universities of Europe and has allowed collaboration between professional scientists and youngsters. Thousands of students, teachers and scientists from 20 countries have already benefited from the tournament.

Personal experience:

  • Scientific Adviser and Team Leader of the Belarusian Team at the ITYM in 2009, 2010, and 2011. Under my supervision, the Belarusian Team received First Prize (in 2009 and 2011) and Third Prize (in 2010).

  • Co-chair of Local Organizing Committee of ITYM 2016 (Bremen, Germany).

  • Memeber of Scientific Committee of ITYM (since 2016).

Modern Mathematics - International Summer Schools for Students

The International Summer School "Modern Mathematics" is a unique opportunity for international top-level mathematicians of today and tomorrow to interact in a fruitful and substantial way. The school invites most prominent and exciting international mathematicians to share their experience and encourage young students to do research in mathematics. During 10 days, approximately 100 highly-potential young mathematicians (at the age of transition between high school and university) from around the globe meet with international leading mathematicians. Beyond formal presentations, emphasis is laid on opportunity for informal interaction and communication.
