One Year Bible Club
"Your Word have I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against You" (Psalm 119:11)
Please consider joining the One Year Bible Club:
I am amazed at how many hours we spend watching television (myself included) and yet find it so hard to spend just 10-15 minutes reading the Bible.
We can make all sorts of promises to ourselves that we will read the Bible, but unless we make it a discipline ( a regular practice), we will probably lose interest and pursue other things seeking our attention.
I found a wonderful way to maintain my commitment to read through the Bible every year. That method is the One Year Bible (my preference is the Chronological Version) and it is reasonably priced. I have included a link to Christian Book Distributors (www.cbd.com) if you are interested in purchasing a copy for yourself.
I would like to challenge you to commit to read through the Bible beginning January 1, 2011. If you decide to do this send me an e-mail (mikesouthwick@gmail.com), and I will commit to pray for you on a regular basis as well. In addition, perhaps we can even discuss (from time to time) some of those challenging passages that we may find difficult to understand.
For those of you who are already reading through the Bible every year let me encourage you to keep it up. Please send me an e-mail indicating that you will join the One Year Bible Club and let's see how many people we can get to sign up.
Several years ago I came accross another book called the One Year Book of Christian History. I have found it to be very informative, beneficial, and a good supplement to my daily reading. Let me also encourage you to give this a try as well.
I hope to hear from you soon.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6)
