It was constructed to be very robust but still light. In the details below you can see my construction pictures and notes including some weights. Here are some highlights
- 14' Sevtec Vanguard
- Built with 1/2" CoreCell foam and 3/4" for the hull bottom
- 3/8" foam top deck with step-in platform
- Vinylester marine resin (stronger than polyester)
- Marine coat paint (white)
- Sevtec brake system on wheel
- B&S 26hp V-twin (with tiny-tach, only about 5 hours)
- Electric fuel pump
- Custom 2-1 stainless exhaust with lightweight quiet motorcycle muffler
- Stainless steel engine mounts
- Powerfin adjustable pitch 3-blade prop
- Multiwing 6 blade (in 9 blade hub) lift fan
- Fiberglass duct for lift fan (from Amphibious Marine)
- Lightweight AGM battery
- Stainless steel bolts, shafts used where possible
- Custom tapered (diverging) duct
- Custom lightweight trailer with ability to load and unload by oneself (ala Barrys video)
- Craft and trailer both have current registration in California
