Professor Michael M. Anshel
Professor Emeritus, City College of New York
I am a mathematician and since 1968 I have been a Professor of Computer Science in the Department of Computer Sciences, City College of New York, City University of New York.
I am also on the Doctoral Faculty of the City University of New York Graduate Center in the Mathematics and Computer Science Departments.
My current area of research is in Cryptography and Computer Security.
My research, scholarly, and teaching interests are in mathematical cryptography; cryptography and its relationship to advanced computing technologies in general, and quantum computing in particular; the role of cryptography in information warfare; historical cultural issues in cryptology
Other research and scholarly Interests are in Computational Methods in Algebra, Combinatorics, and Number Theory; Cryptology and Computer Security; Quantum Computing; History of Computing; Bioinformatics
I am a co-founder of and advisor to the SecureRF Corporation (Veridify Security) which works in the area of linear based security methods, and in their associated implementations for RFID, smart cards, and in other small or embedded systems where security is needed.
