Helpful Information

Locations: Please download or print a copy of the Campus Map (outline version) and bring it with you.   More map options.

Emergency Telephone Numbers: If you need to report a problem or non-life-threatening emergency (or if someone can’t reach you on your cell phone), call the number posted throughout campus: 920-748-8703, option 2.

Lodging: Lodging will be in Johnson Hall.  Our group will be the only occupants of the dorm and most buildings. There is a common lounge with refrigerator and air conditioning. Dorm rooms are not air-conditioned, but the lounge and all other facilities are. There are group restrooms on each floor.

Security: Each person in the dorm will receive a room key. The dorm and other buildings will be locked overnight.

First Aid Kit: A first aid kit is available in the Great Hall. A defibrillator is available in Pickard Commons.

Smoking:  All residence halls are smoke-free. Smoking is allowed outside residence halls on porches and patios.

Alcohol: If you’d like to bring alcohol for yourself or for others to share, please feel free to do so. There will be a cash donation bar at the evening parties and Saturday pre-banquet reception. 

Drugs:  Illicit drugs are prohibited.

Wireless: Wireless access is available using a guest login. Password will be available in your registration packet.

Refrigerator Access: This will be limited, but there is a refrigerator in the Johnson Hall kitchen on first floor.  We suggest bringing your own cooler/ice if you need to keep items cold.

Check-in/Check-out:  Check-in will occur in the Johnson Hall Lobby from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m Friday. People arriving after this time should come directly to the Harwood Memorial Union Great Hall or call one of the organizers’ cell phones (numbers will be posted on door). Participants need to clear their rooms and return their keys to the campus registrar by 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Note: Hearty snacks will be provided Friday after the social dance and during the ceilidh after the ball. If you are eager to bring snacks and drinks to share, they should be non-perishable or stored in coolers since refrigerator space is limited. Wine and beer will be available at the parties and banquet at cost. Other beverages for your own use or to share would be welcome. 

Meals:

Teaching Sessions: All workshop dance sessions will be held in Harwood Memorial Union, in the Great Hall or MLK Room.

Music Workshop: Please see the information at Music Workshop

Parking: Parking is available on city streets and in various marked lots. The main lot for Johnson Hall Dormitory is just east of the building, 416 W. Thorne St. You may want to park on the street to unload, but then please move to the parking lot. If you are coming just in time for the ball, the best lot is at the corner of Seward St. and Woodside Ave.

Gatherings:  The Johnson Hall Lounge will be the location of the Friday night welcome party and the Saturday night Ceilidh. 

Ceilidh:  The Ceilidh is held a half hour after the Saturday Ball. A ceilidh master will be ready to register your acts during the weekend. 

Locations: Specific rooms and times for the ball, ball walk-through, classes, etc. are all noted on the Schedule.

Changing Room: If you aren't staying in the dorms and need a place to change before the ball, use the  men’s and women’s restrooms just off the Great Hall.

Items for Sale:  If you have items for sale (CDs, tapes, books, t-shirts, etc.), they may be offered on tables near the front of the Great Hall.

Silent Auction: We will hold a silent auction that helps fund the Weekend. Items available for bid will be on tables in the Johnson Hall Lobby. Printing and filling out the auction form beforehand will be helpful.
