I am a collaborative, caring and playful educator with a Masters in Reading who is always eager to learn and collaborate. I am a highly experienced educator with most of my career spent using the IB PYP.
As an educator, I first make sure my students feel safe and cared for so that they are then ready to learn and build relationships. I believe in listening to students and allowing them opportunities to build their agency by linking their interests to our inquiries. When students have a personal interest in what they are inquiring into they are able to bring in more prior knowledge and make more connections to our curriculum. We are then able to co-create documentation that highlights skills, concepts, and understandings to showcase and support our learning journey. I continually reflect upon my teaching and learning by seeking out professional development and teaching opportunities that will get me out of my comfort zone and help me grow.
