Michael Jay Tucker
author, editor, publisher, video maker
Hi, Everyone,
So, who am I?
Well, my official biography reads as follows: "Michael Jay Tucker is a writer, editor, and independent scholar. He has many hundred published articles to his credit, and several books. You may see more of his writing at his blog, explosive-cargo.blogspot.com, and at his Amazon author's page at hhttp://www.amazon.com/-/e/B001KI3I6E "
Which is all true enough.
But, it leaves out a lot. Like, for instance, that I was a trade press journalist for a quarter of a century (computers, mostly, and particularly UNIX), and that in that role I covered the introduction of the PC and fall of the mini-computer, that I interviewed Steve Jobs just after he was kicked out of Apple and just before Apple's Board of Directors came begging him to come back, and that I remember when the Internet (not yet the web) came out of the labs and entered the world, blinking and uncertain.
And it leaves out that for the last few years I have been the editor of something called Belfort & Bastion, and that I have recently begun to focus my professional efforts on helping people publish their books, electronic and hardcopy, on Amazon and elsewhere.
And it leaves out the fact that I have become fascinated by video and limited animation, and that some of my efforts have won awards. (You can see some of those on this web site, here, and on my Vimeo page, here.)
And most of all, it leaves out what is truly vital: to wit, that I married to a wonderful woman named Martha, and that we have an amazing son named David, and an astonishing daughter-in-law named Emily, and that they have daughter who is more wonderful than words can say.
So that's who I am.
If we've already met, I'm happy to see you again. If we haven't, well, then I'm looking forward to getting to know you.
Onward and upward.
