Received notification about the acceptance of my paper titled "An open source Tesseract based Optical Character Recognizer for Bangla script" onthe Tenth International Conference on Document Analysis and Recognition (ICDAR'2009).

For the first time Center for Research on Bangla Language Processing (CRBLP) launched the first official release of the Bangla language processing software packages for Text to Speech (TTS) and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) named “Katha” and BanglaOCR respectively. I am the lead developer of BanglaOCR.

Attended and presented 3 papers on the Conference on Language and Technology 2009 (CLT09) , held at NUCES, Lahore, Pakistan. Papers are: [1] "Integrating Bangla script recognition support in Tesseract OCR", [2] "Rule based segmentation of lower modifiers in complex Bangla scripts" and [3] "Elimination of splitting errors in printed Bangla scripts".

Attended the Regional Conference on Localized ICT Development and Dissemination across Asia, held at Vientiane, Laos. The conference was organized by PAN Localization Project.
