Brief Bio and Skills

Brief Bio:

I am a Research Scientist at the Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories (MERL), MA, USA where I work in the area of computer vision and audio-visual learning. I graduated with a PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), in the Fall of 2022. During my PhD, I had the fortune of interning multiple times at industrial research labs including at Mitsubishi Electric Research Labs and NEC Labs. Earlier in 2014, I graduated with a MS (Master of Science) in Computer Science from the University of Southern California, in Los Angeles. During my masters program, I interned at Samsung Research America in Irvine. In the pre-historic era (2011), I earned a Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech, U.S. equivalent of B.S.) degree from the Heritage Institute of Technology, India (formerly affiliated with the West Bengal University of Technology).


In the past, I have also held Research Scientist/Research Staff/Visiting Scientist positions at the Institute for Creative Technologies, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA, USA, the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT-Madras), India , and the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, India (ISI-Kolkata).
