The Merrimack Valley Bird Club has been exploring the Merrimack Valley and North Shore of Massachusetts since 1948. We are a welcoming club that is open to all who have an interest in birding the northeast Massachusetts area. New members are welcome. Bring binoculars and/or spotting scopes if you have them!

If you would like to share your favorite place to bird just send a suggestion to birdclub.merrimackvalley@gmail and we will help you set up and lead the walk. Tell us the location and the best season to visit. Thanks!

President's Letter Late Spring 2026
As spring turns into summer, our spring 2026 season is wrapping up. We have enjoyed a great turnout for most of our recent walks. It has been a delight to see this growing interest in birding and the Merrimack Valley Bird Club. I appreciate all that our current slate of officers has done this year to add walks, members, excitement, and refreshed processes to our club. I'm sure that old members as well as new members have noticed and appreciate this growing energy.
This spring I am stepping down as President to allow the enthusiastic Zoltan Poleretzky an opportunity to be elected and begin leading our club. He has done a great job as Vice President this year. I plan to keep working on the website and have added an "Aha Moment" section to share how our members found birding and the MVBC. I hope you'll join in and share your story.
Please join us in our first online Annual Meeting on the evening of June 18. You will need to register to get the Zoom link. Come learn about the future plans for MVBC and vote for the new slate of officers.
Two new books I've read that I highly recommend (Feather Wars, and Feather Detective) can be found at the top of the Recommended Bird Books page!
