East-West Connections in Antiquity: the Ancient Mediterranean and the Eastern Worlds (Arabia; Horn of Africa; India; Ceylon; China; Indian Ocean), from  the 6th century BC to the 6th century AD. 

My research work focuses in particular on :

• East-West Connections in Antiquity: the ancient Mediterranean and the Eastern worlds (Arabia; Horn of Africa; India; Ceylon; China; Indian Ocean), from the 6th century BC to the 6th century AD

• aspects of Mediterranean people's activities (explorations; sailing ; political, diplomatic, cultural, commercial exchanges with India and East Asia, South Arabia, East and Nilotic Africa);

• Greek and Roman knowledge (ethnographic, geographical, historical, zoological, botanical knowledge, etc.)  ;  the point of view of the Greeks and Romans on the eastern and southern edges of the world;

• cultural transfers (ideas, cults, techniques, knowledge, etc.);

• global economic history of luxury; luxury products;

• proto-globalizations.
