Welcome! I am a Full Economist at the RAND Corporation where I also codirect the Middle-Class Pathways Center. Prior to my employment at RAND, I completed my PhD through Carnegie Mellon's Economics and Public Policy program, a joint PhD offered by the Tepper School of Business Economics Department and the Heinz College of Public Policy.
I have diverse research interests within applied microeconomics; specifically, STEM workforce development, postsecondary education, personnel economics, gender equity, and access to civil justice. My work has examined household transitions and dynamics (coresidence, marriage, divorce, and partner communication), analyzed workforce pipelines (principals, military linguists, construction workers, STEM doctorates, Army engineers), and estimated the impacts of access to justice on civil outcomes such as bankruptcy and divorce. My work has been funded by the National Science Foundation, the National Endowment for Financial Education, the Institute for Civil Justice, and the Social Security Administration.
As an instructor, I have taught undergraduate Applied Economics for the PPIA Program for two years. I have also served as a teaching assistant for both undergraduate and master's level courses in microeconomics, econometrics, and finance. For more details, please visit my teaching page.
