Anyone who owns a competition AR15 rifle knows that being able to control the gas is essential to get the best performance from the rifle. The challenge with the H&K MR 223/556/HK416 has been that there has been no option to adjust the gas… until now!
Mekanix has developed an adjustable gas block that fits directly onto the original 16,5-inch barrel of an MR223/HK416/MR556. With this gas block you will have the same level of control which you are used to from a normal competition AR15 platform.
Not only does it enable you to fully control the gas, but it also has a thinner profile and weighs 25% less than the original.
With this gasblock you can easily adjust the timing of your carrier.
These factors will influence how much gas you need:
- Size of the gas hole in the barrel
- Buffer springs and weight of the carrier
- Ammunition and barrel length
By adjusting the gas according to your "own" setup, you will reduce tear and achieve less recoil.
To adjust the gasblock you only need to use a 1.5mm Allen wrench.
Mekainx XPT.223 adjustable gas block specifications:
- Length 46mm
- Width 23mm
- Height 41mm
- Weight 105gram.
It's machined from Rm1200N/mm2 steel, and has gotten a Cerakote C-102 Graphite Black surface finish.
The gas block fits perfectly on an original 16,5-inch barrel.
