Research Overview

I received my B.S. degree in Telecommunication Engineering in 2006 from Istanbul Technical University, Turkey. I received my M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in both Electronics Engineering from Sabanci University, Turkey, in August 2008 and January 2013, respectively. During my Ph.D, I spent some time at Deutsche Telekom, Germany, Berlin, and The Ohio State University, US. After working two years as system and research Engineer at AirTies Wireless Networks, Istanbul, Turkey, I did my postdoctoral study at Lund University between 2015 and 2017. Then, I joined to Ericsson AB, Lund as a System Developer focusing on Massive and MU-MIMO systems for Ericsson 5G base stations.

I was selected as Exemplary Reviewer from IEEE Communication Letters at 2014. I was one of the receivers of the best paper award at SPECTS 2011, Huge, Netherlands. I have been Assistant Professor at TED University, Ankara, Turkey since 2019 and serving as an Associate Editor for Frontiers in Communications and Networks.

In general, my research interests are in the field of computer and mobile communication networks with emphasis on performance analysis, protocol and architecture design, optimization, machine learning for networking, prototyping and experimental evaluation for IEEE 802.11 based networks. Currently, I am interested in:

    • Autonomous 5G beyond networks

    • Radio Resource Management for 5G and Beyond

    • Dense networks, MAC design for 802.11ax
