Practical informations

Here you can find a list of possible accommodation and some information on how to get to Braga and to conference venue.

          New information: The meeting will take place in the ROOM 0.0.1 of the School of Economics and Management (EEG)

To reach the ROOM 0.0.1, go to the main entrance of the School of Economics and Management (ground-floor) and then go down (underground). The Room 0.0.1 is on the left.

Previous information: The meeting will take place in Laboratório 4 of the department of mathematics which is located in the third floor of the  building of the School of Science in the Gualtar Campus of the University of Minho. To reach Laboratório 4, you go to the main entrance of the School of Science, go up to the 3rd floor and walk up to the end of the corridor, turn left go again to the end of the corridor, turn left then right and the second room to your right is the entrance to Laboratório 4. There will be signs spread along the School of Science, indicating your way to the conference room.

To reach to the Gualtar Campus:

• From Braga Train Station:  Bus number  "43 - Estação C.P. - Universidade do Minho" runs directly from Train Station to the University Campus (note that the Bus stop is just in front of the entry point to the University). Here is the Schedule.

• From Porto Airport:   Take a Taxi directly to Braga or a Metro+Train to Braga Train Station. If you prefer to take Metro+Train, please get down in the Porto Campanhã metro station from where you can take a train to Braga. The train from Porto Campanhã to Braga takes about 1 hour.

•  There is also a direct Bus connecting Porto Airport and Braga Bus Terminal. Detailed information and Schedule can be found here. 

• From Braga Bus Terminal: From Braga Bus Terminal there is no direct Bus to the University of Minho. The better way is to take a Taxi.

• By Car:  The entry point for the visitors is from the main gate of the University which is in the Rua da Universidade. In the check post you must say to the security person that you are going to attend a meeting in the Departamento de Matemática e Aplicações.

• From Hotel Bracara Augusta & Residencial Dora:  These two hotels are located nearby the Center of Braga. One can get to the university on foot or by City Bus. On foot it takes about 20 to 25 minutes.

• If you prefer to walk, please go east from Hotel Bracara Augusta to reach Senhora-a-Branca Square where Residencial Dora is located. From  Senhora-a-Branca Square continue in the Rua de São Victor and Rua Dom Pedro V to reach to a overhead bridge. After crossing the overhead bridge,  continue straight forward to Rua Nova de Santa Cruz that leads to the southern gate of the University.

• If you prefer to take bus, go to  Senhora-a-Branca Square in front of Residencial Dora from where Bus Number 24 goes to the University. You can find the bus schedule here.

To reach Hotel Bracara Augusta & Residencial Dora:

Most of the speakers and participants will stay in these two hotels. These hotels are centrally located in Braga and are in the walk-able distance from Bus Terminal and Train Station of Braga. If you are with light luggage, you can walk. 

• From Train station, head east towards Rua do Souto and continue straight forward to Av. Central where Hotel Bracara Augusta is located. If you go further east for 5 minutes from Hotel Bracara Augusta, you will reach Senhora-a-Branca square where Residencial Dora is located.

• From Bust Terminal, head south to Av. Central via Rua de Chão. It takes about 5-7 minutes walk to reach to Hotel Bracara Augusta.

• If you are with heavy luggage, it is better to take a Taxi.
