I am a vertebrate paleontologist, data scientist and game designer. I currently work as an Associate Professor of Practice at the University of Arizona's College of Information Science where I teach data visualization, statistics, coding skills, educational game design and science communication.
I hold a Bachelor's degree from Oregon State University in Biology with a minor's in Chemistry, and a Ph.D. from University of Oregon in Geology with a focus on Paleontology. I first began my science journey at an outdoor school offered by the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry at Hancock Field Station in eastern Oregon. I went there in 6th grade thinking I wanted to be a flight attendant and left knowing I wanted to be a scientist.
My hobbies include rock climbing, hanging out with my growing number of sheep, and listening to D&D podcasts despite having never played D&D.
