About Our Swim Team

Meadowglen Swim Team is a summer swim team designed to help swimmers ages ~5 - 18 learn and excel at the sport of swimming. We belong to the Boulder Valley Summer Swim League. All swimmers are welcome, from beginner to competitive, and will through their personal dedication and team support gain competitive experience and improve their capabilities and times. The goal of the organization is to make sure every child is comfortable in the water.

PLEASE NOTE: Our practice pool is 10' deep & no matter the age of your swimmer, they must be deemed "water safe" to join the team.  "Water safe" will be determined by our coaching staff during the first weeks of practice--this requirement keeps ALL the kids safe during their time with us.

There are five age groups determined by a swimmers age on May 15th.  Age groups are as follows:

- 8 years old and under

- 9-10 year olds

- 11-12 year olds

- 13-14 year olds

- 15-18 year olds

MGST Guidelines for participation:
All swimmers must be able to swim the length of the pool to compete.
Dues must be paid & paperwork completed before attending first practice.
Wear team designated suit at all meets.
Must attend practice  3 times  a week to compete in that Saturday's meet
Swim in 3  Saturday meets to swim in the championship meets,
Must be available for finals day to swim in prelim qualifiers.
Year round swimmers (e.g. USA Club swimmers) are restricted from participating in a USA sanctioned meet after October 31st of the previous year.
Swimmers are not allowed to practice or compete with ANY other team during our summer season.
Off-season coached practices-maximum 3 days/week (to avoid confusion, contact coaches before planning off-season swimming)
Meadowglen follows these and all guidelines regulated by our league, Boulder Valley Summer Swim League

The Dolphins participate in six dual meets that are held on most Saturdays throughout June and July. The last week of the season culminates in the preliminary age group meets (Prelims) that qualify the swimmers to participate in the end-of-season Championship (Finals) meet.  It is expected that all swimmers participate in their preliminary meet; finals participation depends on qualifying times- the top 22 finishers per event from prelims will qualify for the Finals competition.
