1.The McCook Lake Izaak Walton League grounds, boat ramp, clubhouse and outside restroom facilities are open to Chapter members ONLY, their immediate families and accompanied guests * (see A. guest limit below). Video surveillance of property will record illegal and illicit activities and will be shared with proper governing authorities, including city, county, and state law enforcement, as well as S.D. Dept. of Game, Fish and Parks.
A. Each current member shall be limited to 2 accompanied guests. *. Member will be responsible for their guest’s actions and could face revocation of membership if violations of standing rules occur.
B. Glass containers of any kind are prohibited on all McCook Lake Izaak Walton’s properties.
C. Camping and Fires are prohibited on shorelines or anywhere on Izaak Walton Properties.
D. Possession of members fob by non-member is strictly prohibited and will result in the revocation of membership if violation occurs.
2. Use of the shelter facilities for private gatherings: Groups larger than 4 but smaller than 30 must receive permission from the Caretaker at (712) 251-0491) at least 72 hours but no more than 30 days in advance for reservation of the shelter.
3. Groups of 30 or more must rent the clubhouse. Contact the Caretaker at (712) 251-0491 for availability.
4. The clubhouse grounds may be used for picnics, recreational activities. Formal ceremonies such as weddings, baptisms, and family reunions, and graduations are permitted on the grounds, through reservations only. If additional seating is required, user must rent or provide same. NO CHAIRS OR TABLES MAY BE REMOVED FROM THE CLUBHOUSE. Music volume shall be set at a moderate level to avoid a public annoyance. Grounds are open at 7:00 AM and are to be vacated by 10:00 PM. Children must always to be supervised by the User. User is responsible for picking up all litter.
5. An adult member of the Chapter must accompany children under 14 years of age. Member children ages 14 to 17 on the premises and not accompanied by an adult must have their own membership card in their possession. They may not bring non-members
6. Motorcycles, horses, tents, recreational vehicles, fireworks, and campfires are not allowed on any Chapter property. Pets are only allowed from vehicles directly to watercraft on a leash, control must be maintained or member and pet may be asked to vacate the grounds.
7. No unauthorized overnight parking on McCook Lake Izaak Walton properties. Vehicles and trailers left in the parking lot for more than 12 hours without the Caretaker’s approval are subject to towing at the owner’s expense.
8. Members shall always be courteous to our neighbors, employees, Caretakers, and other members.
9. Members are responsible for the actions of their guests.
10. The Board of Directors may revoke the facility privileges of any member whose behavior is detrimental to the mission or reputations of the Club.
11. Single and family membership dues are $115 per year. A family membership qualifies both adults with the right to vote. Senior singles over 70 years of age will pay $79 per year. Membership dues paid before Sept. 30th will expire Dec. 31st of that same year. (Note #19 for boating fees.)
12. STUDENT Membership dues for students 18 through 22 years of age shall be $35 yearly. They may not bring non-members with them.
13. YOUTH MEMBERSHIPS are available for one child under the age of eighteen years, or a full-time high school student under the age of nineteen and shall be $20 yearly. They may not bring non-members with them.
14. NEW MEMBERS attain full status after 30 days.
15. SINGLE AND FAMILY members over the age of 21 can rent the clubhouse by calling the Caretaker at 712-251-0491. The member must sign a written contract for the reservation of the clubhouse. The fee for non-members is $600. Member fee is $300. A 5-hour rental of $200 is available to members and $300 for non-members with a limit of 5 hours (including set up and tear down) and less than 50 attendees. There is also a $200 deposit on all rentals to cover possible damages/contract violations. Damage deposit will be released if the Caretaker determines that no damages and proper cleanup have occurred. The renter must be present at the clubhouse during their event and must be vacated by 12 midnight.
16. ARCHERY HUNTING for deer and wild turkey is allowed for members only by getting a permit from the Chapter President his/her designee.
17. YOUTH PHEASANT HUNT will be organized by the Chapter President or his/her designee.
18. Parking lot gate is opened with a key fob. Single memberships can purchase one key fob; Family Memberships are allowed to purchase two key fobs. The key fobs can be purchased from the Caretaker for $10. The key fob is guaranteed only from January 1-December 31 of the year of purchase. Any replacement of a fob after the initial guaranteed period requires a $10 payment for a new fob. Members who fail to renew by March 1st—their key fob may be deleted and subject to a reactivation fee of $25 per fob when membership renewed.
19. BOAT FEES & STICKERS for all motorized watercraft at the McCook Lake Izaak Walton boat ramp will be required. The fees for watercraft are $50 and will cover all watercraft you own. Fees must be paid before you receive your sticker(s), along with a copy of registration for such watercraft, before you launch your watercraft. There will be no charge for non-motorized watercraft. If you choose not to participate in the annual fee, the daily fee for launching your boat will be $10. The sticker is to be placed on the starboard (right) hand side of the watercraft, in the rear quarter. New or replacement boat stickers can be received from the Caretaker. Any unpaid launching fees could result in deactivation of key fob.
20. Copies of the Chapter’s bylaws, standing rules and charter will be issued upon request.
21. The Chapter will follow all Internal Revenue Service regulations for providing Form 990 upon request.
22. NO SWIMMING IN THE BOAT DOCKING AREA OR FISHING PIER. NO DIVING FROM THE BOAT DOCKS.
23. No motorized watercraft parking on the shoreline.
24. Annual boat docks are available for rent on a first-come, first-served basis for a $600 annual fee plus $100 annual maintenance fee, from April 1- October 31. Kayak storage racks are available for rental from April 1 – October 31 for $75. Sign up through the Caretakers.
