Hunting

Bow hunting on the island for deer and turkey is permitted but access is limited to a certain number of individuals for safety reasons. Permission can be obtained through the caretaker and priority is given based on a volunteer point system. Points can be earned via volunteer opportunities throughout the year.

Publicly accessible hunting is also available on our other property northeast of the lake. The property is parcel ID 17.00.76.2020 on the Union County Beacon website. To get to property head west on Northshore past Deer Run to 482nd Ave and turn north. The south east corner of the property is across the street from a power substation. There is wetland and prairie grass sprawling across 120 acres of walk in hunting, there is no requirements to hunt and it is first come first serve.
