In this interface the user in charge will be able to:

· Create new recurring deposits

· Enter the information of customer, the deposit

· Edit any customer information

· Calculate interest

1) PRESENT SYSTEM

Presently the bank is not computerized and most of the work of the bank is done manually. The bank maintains the records and details of the customers and their transactions in a ledger.

The problems faced by the bank with the present system:

· Maintenance of ledgers for each customer is a cumbersome process and proves to be costly on the run.

· Petty cash maintenance of the bank becomes difficult because each time any transaction is made it has to be updated in the ledger manually.

· As and when any customer makes any kind of transaction this has to be entered in the ledger corresponding to that customer manually that is time consuming.

· If customer requests for any clarification the person in charge has to search through the written records and fetch the details regarding that particular customer, which is time consuming and cumbersome.

· All calculations are done manually; therefore there is a high risk of error in calculation, leading to confusion and chaos.

· The bank currently does not provide for ATM facilities to its customers, thereby over crowding the bank during peak hours.

· Maintenance of the ledgers occupy large space

· Security of the information maintained is comparatively less.

2) PROPOSED SYSTEM

In the proposed system we computerize the bank. Most of the manual work is cut down and are given to the computers. Computers perform most of the tasks and any information is made available at the users’ fingertips. Storage of all the customer information and the transactions has been computerized.

The features that the proposed system aims at achieving:

· It provides for effective maintenance of records regarding customers, regarding customers, transactions etc. Initially it may cost more but proves to be cost effective in the long run.

· Transactions are done in an easy and effective manner as most part of it is computerized and the manual labour of entering transactions in ledger is not necessary.

· Any customer clarification required can be done in a faster manner thereby satisfying the customer.

· Petty cash is automatically maintained as and when the transactions take place.

· The computer does all calculations required. There are reliable and errors are rare unless until the user has done some mistake in the input of the data.

· ATM facility is introduced to help its customers transact effectively.

· Space requirement for records is reduced dramatically.

· Security of the stored information is achieved here. Only privileged users can gain access to the stored information.
