The last Weekly Mayday Friendship Group Will Be On March 31st Being Both A Birthday Party & A Farewell For Now At Least, To A Weekly Meeting. 

The Following Tuesday 7th April Will Be The First Of Our Monthly "Open" Peer Support Group Meetings With Other "Closed" Invitation Only Events Planned Including A "Peer Advocacy" Service. Please See The Dedicated New Pages On This Site.

Mayday Friendship Group in Clacton On Sea is a social and support group for those who desire a social life and opportunities for mutual support, including those who find socialising particularly difficult.

Reasons might include: neurodiversity, low self esteem, prolonged loneliness and isolation and mental health issues like addiction, depression and anxiety. (All our Tuesday  afternoon meetings are alcohol free)

A typical Mayday Friendship Group meeting includes a friendly chat and a "Support Round" that endeavours to ensure that everybody feels heard if they have something they want or need to say about their struggles or indeed to share their happiness. We believe in honesty and authenticity and nobody need feel under any pressure to wear a smile if they don't feel like it and nobody has to share their issues, only if they want to. We promise to respect the confidentiality of any issue discussed.

Occasionally but not more than once a month our meeting is a party to celebrate member birthdays falling within that month or to mark celebrations of national significance. The last meeting before Christmas is our Christmas party and reunion welcoming members, former facilitators, friends, family and allies old and new!
