"Music has always been my primary means of communication. My journey began at ten years old when I started playing and studying drums with a teacher—an experience that first happened, according to my uncle, while he placed me on a stool!
I enjoy all genres of music, whether listening or playing, from classical pieces to modern pop. In fact, about 30 years ago, I enrolled in a formal course to achieve the institutional qualification: Instrument Percussion Diploma.
My first professional role as a certified music teacher was at the Music Academy Bologna in 2004. Before that, I gained extensive experience giving private drum lessons while simultaneously performing with various bands and symphonic orchestras. Despite the exciting gigging life, teaching remained my greatest passion.
Working within a state-of-the-art facility—complete with fully equipped recording studios, a large live performance space, and 15 lecture rooms—was truly incredible! Receiving daily feedback from students who bring their own emotions into the classroom, guiding them toward their future professional careers, was deeply fulfilling.
When I started as a music teacher, my focus was intensely centered on instrument didactics; it felt like the most crucial discipline. While this is true, I recognized that I needed to broaden my experience beyond drums and percussion, incorporating skills in instruments like electric guitar, bass, and vocals. For this reason, my didactic director advised me to improve my expertise by looking outside our immediate context and adopting a more global perspective.
In winter 2005, we traveled to London for a training course at ACM (Academy of Music). ACM is an amazing music and technology academy where I saw how large organizational teams work together to place the student’s learning experience at the absolute forefront. We were exposed to diverse teaching environments: observing music classes arranged in various ways, from live performance halls to dedicated sight-reading rooms.
In 2011, I opened my first own music school in Bologna through a partnership with Man International. Together, we delivered recognized music and technology courses (Level 3–5) certified by Pearson. At that time, I also had the opportunity to meet Trinity Music Exams, and I was immensely impressed by the comprehensive suite offered—its dynamic engagement model and focus on self-improvement completely changed my approach for me and our staff.
Our philosophy is centered entirely around the pupil. We believe in fostering creativity and utilizing a personalized tutoring expertise, allowing every student to choose the learning method that best suits their needs."
