Research and Professional Interests

I´m a veterinary pathologist interested in all aspects of wildlife diseases, with special emphasis on the effect of environmental change on the immune system of wild animals and infectious diseases ecology.

Through the use of pathology, I want to provide relevant knowledge on specific tissular reactions to pathogens, the role of immunity and natural individual variation in the presentation and severity of diseases. This information is very important in order to understand from the molecular to ecosystem level the role that diseases play in nature.

The study of wildlife diseases is critical for the protection of animal, environmental and human health.
