The DVDR Talking Jazz Guitar is available from April 6, 2013.
It contains over 2 hours of jazz guitar video lessons. The real time fretboard display is integrated into the video. Unlike the DVD Loop Fun, it does not have a web browser based navigation menu; the web browser navigation is nice, but also can cause complications on some platforms or some browsers, because it requires certain web browser plugins which are not always installed on every system (even though you can install them for free). To avoid any such complications, on TJG you just use your file browser, such as Windows Explorer, to select the videos. The videos are in Windows Media Format. On MacOS you may need to install Flip4Mac, or VLC player, to play the wmv files. The disc also contains an accompanying text file in PDF format, and backing tracks in mp3 format; both those formats are platform independent, so should work on any system.
If you find errors in the material, please report them, so they can be listed here, and fixed in an update.
Unfortunately, Flip4MAc used to be for free, but not anymore. As an alternative solution, you can convert the videos to a MAC compatible format with free converters such as www.freemake.com.
