• The field with one element and the Bruhat decomposition -- notes for an expository talk on why it is that if you count the number of k-dimensional subspaces of an n-dimensional vector space over the field with q elements and set q=1, which makes no sense as there is no field with one element, you get the number of size k subsets of a set of size n.
