Notice of public hearing and special meeting.

Notice is hereby given of a public hearing and Planning Commission meeting by the Matteson Township Planning Commission, on February 26, 2020, at 7:30p.m. at the Township Hall, M-86 & Athens Rd Sherwood, MI 49089.

The purpose of the public hearing is to continue to hear and consider a text amendment to the Matteson Township Zoning Ordinance to permit wind energy conversion systems, and to establish regulations and standards for them. The amendment would be placed in Section 14.22 and 14.23.

Pertinent information relative to this Zoning Ordinance Text Amendment, including the latest draft of the proposed ordinance amendment, may be requested from the Matteson Township Clerks Office, 850 S. Werners Landing Dr., Bronson, MI 49028 or can be reviewed on our website: Mattesontownship.org under the Forms and Docs page.

The Planning Commission will also consider such other and further matters as shall lawfully come before it at the meeting. Immediately following the public hearing, the Matteson Township Planning Commission will hold a special meeting for the purpose of recommending the proposed wind energy conversion system amendment to the township board. The Planning Commission reserved the ability to recommend the proposed ordinance amendment to the Township Board for approval, to recommend alternative language and/or conditions regarding the proposed ordinance amendment, or to recommend denial of the proposed ordinance amendment to the Township Board.

Persons interested are invited and requested to attend the Public Hearing and special meeting on the date specified. Written comments are also welcome at the clerks address above prior to the date specified. Written comments may further be submitted to the Planning Commission as the public hearing. Individuals with disabilities who require auxiliary aids or services should contact the Township Clerk at least 5 days before thepublic hearing and special meeting.
