About me

I was born in Messina, a town on the north-eastern tip of Sicily, Italy. My second home is Canterbury (UK), where I lived for a few years mostly as a student, to get my MA in Development Economics and my PhD in Economics from the University of Kent. After lecturing for one year at the School of Economics of the University of Kent, I moved back to Messina where I took up a position as Assistant Professor in Economic Policy and then got promoted to Associate Professor in Political Economy at the Department of Economics of the University of Messina.

In April 2019 I joined the Asian Development Bank as Senior Economist and currently live in Manila, Philippines.
