Finding the 5 Number Summary using the TI graphing calculator
The below instructions are assuming that you already have values added in the list, if not go to STAT and choose EDIT.
Input the data into a list
Go to the button stat on the calculator and tab right to calc. Choose option number 1 for 1-Var Stats and then press enter.
If you put your data into L1, then all that you have to do is press enter.
If you put you data into another list, you must select that list by entering L2,L3,L4, ect...
one of the above, not all.
The Mean
Sum of All values in the list
Sum of all the values squared
Standard Deviation
Sigma x
Standard Deviation
THE 5 NUMBER SUMMARY
Minimum x value
Lower quartile
Median
Upper Quartile
Maximum x value
