Bio and CV

I am a Professor of climate change economics at Politecnico di Milano, and director of the European Institute on the Economy and the Environment (EIEE), a partnership between Resources for the Future and the Fondazione CMCC.  I coordinated the climate programme at FEEM, have been a fellow at the Center for Advanced Studies in Behavioural Sciences at Stanford University, and post-doctoral fellow at Princeton University. I do research in climate change, using both computational models and empirical approaches inspired by behavioural sciences. I was a lead author of the IPCC (5th and 6th assessment reports), co-direct the International Energy Workshop and was deputy editor for the journal ‘Climatic Change’. I have been awarded two grants from the European Research Council (ERC) and led several EU-funded projects. I have advised several international institutions on climate change policy, including the OECD, the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank.
