Introduction
This tutorial shows you how to create an ePortfolio using Google Sites, a free and open online tool that is ideal for creating an ePortfolio. Google Sites helps you create a wiki, and if you have ever used Wikipedia, then you know that a wiki is a website that users can use and edit as they wish. This website is a Google Sites wiki.
At the end of this workshop, you will know how to use Google Sites to create an ePortfolio. You can have the outlines of a promising ePortfolio in just four easy steps:
Signup for a Google account so that you can use Google Sites.
Create a new Site.
Edit your new Site's pages.
Share your new ePortfolio.
Signup for a Google Account
Google Sites is free, but you must have a Google account to use it. Otherwise, how would Google know who you are and which Sites belong to you? If you have a Google Mail account, then you already have a Google account, and you can skip this step. If you don't have a Google account, then go to Google and get one.
On the Google page, click the Sign in button in the upper right-hand corner.
On the Google accounts page, click the Create an account now button.
On the Create an account page, fill in the required information as shown below, and click the I accept. Create my account. button.
