Green Acres Elementary School Diversity Mural, 2023
Diversity mural that was painted near the drop off and the pick up circle. Poga, the school mascot, peacefully resting while representing any and all of the students of the school. An oak tree in a full strenght, again representing our community and everyone in that community. With kindness and acceptance, together we can reach the top of the world!

Alianza Charter School, 2023 8th Grade Mural, Collaborative project
This was a collaborative project with all my Alianza 8th graders who were graduating, many of them after 9 years at the school. The theme and message the students wanted to leave behind is about encouragement and many ways in life. We talked about growth, decision making, different paths in life we can take, different doors that are opened or closed to us and we just don't know what awaits us. We talked about different obsticles and rewards we meet along our way through life, about our goals and dreams ... and how can we possibly even begin to represent all of this in pictures? In the mural, you would find a tree that symbolizes the grows. Its roots and branches turn into paths and you will find doors along the way. You will also find obsticles or rewards as well as encouraging messages both in English and Spanish. What a great message! Good luck on your next journey 8th graders!
Watsonville Charter School of the Arts, 2023 8th Grade Mural, Collaborative project
This collaborative mural project included all of my WCSA 8th graders from the start to the end. Because this wall is located by the road and it is pretty much what people see when they come to the school or just drive by, so it was clear that this mural has to be about who great our school is! The students brainstormed all the great things that make WCSA and worked on finding ways to represent those ideas in pictures. You will find art, music, theater, field trips, sports, friendship and acceptance, garden and learning all represented in the mural. What a great project to end your journey at WCSA! Good luck 8th Graders on your next journey!
Alianza 8th graders got to create a mural with me. After learning how powerful images can be, they wanted to included what matters them most and collectively agreed on representing Mexican heritage, but also being American, unity and diversity, school and family, and also inspiration from a book they read in their Spanish class- The Little Prince. The top clock like part represents their memories from Kindergarten to 8th grade. Well done, Alianza 8th graders. Good luck on your next journey!
