Marlings Morris was founded in 2001 by Tina Keeble as a ladies' North West Morris side based in Godstone, Surrey.
In 2013 Marlings Morris relocated to Edenbridge in Kent.
In 2017, the side changed to a mixed dance side and we welcomed our first two male dancers.
In 2019 Marlings started monthly Saturday Practices
In 2020 Marlings were forced to hold online practices, due to the pandemic!
The original members in 2002 (l-r) Adrian, Sue, Kate, Lynne, Tina, Jean, Jan and Sanchia at The Plough in Dormansland.
In 2011 we celebrated our 10th Anniversary with a mini Day of Dance and a meal attended by many of the founder members.
The Marlings' members at the anniversary are shown outside Knights Garden Centre in Oxted.
(l-r) Anne, Naomi, Liz, Frank, Sanchia, Steph, Gill, Jane, Pauline, Neil and Peter.
In March 2020 our planned dance season was thrown into disarray by the arrival of the pandemic and a national lockdown. Events were cancelled and practices stopped, forcing us to attempt online practices on zoom.
Trying to dance in small spaces and imagine the rest of the set was very challenging, so we were relieved when we were finally able to meet again face-to-face.
In September 2022 we said goodbye to Gill Bilsland who had been the Marlings' Squire for many years. We wish her a happy retirement!
