My collection of CDs and DVD in 5 cases each storing 500 each. Now residing in Marko's Marillion Museum.
First of all Welcome !
I have been trying to build a website for years and thanks to Google sites I think I have finally cracked it :-)
As a trader of Marillion and Fish shows for many years and now I can share it all with you.
On the pages of this site you can see my Marillion, Fish and associated bands Bootlegs that I have collected from around the world over the last few decades.
This has become a real hobby for me and I have met some great traders that have become good friends.
Update July 2024 : Full website now complete all my shows and DVDs are now on this list
Update April 2024 : As I write this im recovering from surgery so I have a lot of time on my hands, im trying to update this site. Keep the email requests coming.
Update May 2020 : Im still going and during lock down I am having good tidy up. I am hoping to issue this site soon with another ten years worth of shows. still happy to trade so send me an email.
Update February 2018 : Yes I am still trading show with people around the world. I know my list is well out of data and I will get that fixed as soon as I can, if you want to trade just email me and I will send you an up to date list in excel.
What I get asked the most.
As a long time trader with over a 2000 shows in my collection, I get a lot of requests , here are the five most common questions I get asked.
1, I have nothing to share with you ,can you sell me show xxx (Nice question but see answer below)
2, can you send me a copy of show xxx, I have nothing to trade, so I will buy you a beer at the next concert (yep we like that offer)
3, can you send me a copy of the Milton Keynes DVD from 1986 as it was amazing (yes the show was amazing, I was there too, the video is not so great)
4, can you send me a copy of my first ever gig.
5, can I have a copy of a show where a song was dedicated to me ,the mrs, my dog, my budgie etc etc
All of these sorts of request are fine in my book and it’s all about sharing these memories.
My Sites , Rules - Please read
I am willing to trade for any Fish or Marillion show that I don't have or if you have an upgrade. That can be in quality, source, mp3 to lossless, or a not complete recording. Anything really I'm not fussy :-)
Now this is 2024 and posting CDs is a thing of the past, I am happy to swap recording via Dropbox, One Drive , wetransfer, or Google Drive, in fact any of the common file sending services out there. I am happy to trade using CDs or DVD, but I prefer them in FLAC files rather than raw Audio Cds.
I also have my own private FTP server on which we can share are trade shows, Once we have agreed a trade I will share the login details with you.
In the past I used to use DC++ hubs but most of these don’t exist anymore. If you have one that is open and you can recommend let me know. I’m more than happy to trade across DC++
Blanks and Postage - If you have nothing to trade I will do Blanks and postage for you but please don't take the piss. If you ask for too many I will just say no. All I ask in return is that you remember me when you trade shows on.
I get lots of requests to sell Bootlegs, this is of course illegal. I do accept the global currency of beer so send me a bottle of the most unusual beer you can get from your part of the world and I will send you some CDs. Someone recently promised me some unusual beer from their part of the world and it never arrived. Oh well lesson learnt , but that's the problem you face. A few months back I was approached by someone who had nothing to trade, but what this chap did have was some old out of print VHS official releases that he no longer wanted. I didn't have them in my collection so he sent them to me as a gift. ok it’s not beer , but it went down a treat. With hundreds of CDs released there is no way I have everything.
So if you have an old CD, Video, DVD, t shirt , poster, hat, or anything else that you wish to send that would be great.
I am also updating my site and I will be including any show that has also been released officially. I included them for myself as a way of working out the MIA shows, unfortunately some numpty traders asked for copies. Don’t ask for anything official you won’t get it and please don’t be offended by this.
MP3s - My take on this
Many traders don't like MP3s , myself included, but unlike many others I'm not interested in the whole 'lossless is best' snobbery that I often see. Plus with the world moving more towards compressed audio, and smart phones and ipads able to deliver top quality recordings I think it’s only a matter of time before many shows new shows will only exist on a lossy format. Many shows are broadcast over the web or over digital radio which is almost totally lossy. Get with the times guys, its coming and we can’t stop it.
A while back I was involved in a website where we shared MP3s of shows and it was a great idea and great fun but with hindsight this pushed out a lot of recordings that are still out there in a lossy format.
Of course I will always look for lossless first but, if you have a show that is rare and only in MP3 or M4a format I am willing to trade, without prejudice.
