Bio

I am an Economics Specialist responsible for the Water and Sanitation Division’s knowledge agenda at the Inter-American Development Bank.

I received my Ph.D. from the University of Oviedo, and my work focuses on environmental and public economics. I am particularly interested in analyzing the effect of public policies on water demand. I also conduct research on efficiency measurement in the agricultural sector, which aims at understanding the trade-offs between agricultural production and environmental damage. Prior to joining the IADB, I worked at the French National Institute for Agricultural Research in Paris, the School of Public Policy of the University of California Riverside (UCR), and the Economics Department of the State University of New York at Stony Brook (SBU).
