ITALIAN NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR SOCIAL SECURITY (INPS):

Individual Fellowship, type “A” visiting scholar research program: VisitINPS (€18k)

This is a recent (highly competitive) fellowship, awarded by the Italian Social Security Institute (INPS) - the equivalent of DWP for the UK. It allows me to use (highly restricted and sensitive) administrative social security data, to undertake a research project on the effect of pension reforms and long-term care policies in the past 20 years in Italy. Preliminary findings have been published in the chapter II of the INPS annual report 2016 and highlighted by the INPS President (Prof Tito Boeri) during his annual speech to the Italian Parliament (7th July 2016). On the 27th of May, I also took part of the INPS delegation for the OECD Economic Survey of Italy.

The topic and methods in use should lead to a 3/4* paper and provide REF evidence of impact generating activity, with the possibility of a REF Impact Case Study.
