Climate Change Unit's Defining Concept: Earth is a dynamic, interconnected and stable planet. Our planet is a system made up of varied climates influenced by the interaction of its atmosphere, landmasses and oceans. Human activities, such as the release of greenhouse gases from burning fossil fuels, are factors in the current rise in Earth’s mean surface temperature. Climate science is a systems science. Climate scientists look at a multiple range of possible outcomes and assess the likelihood of those outcomes. Simply put, if global temperatures continue to rise, what could possibly go wrong AND what is the percentage chance that it will go wrong.

This adds CO2 to the atmosphere. Therein lies the Ruh-Roh.
