Meeting Minutes

Call to Order
Kim Eastes called the meeting to order at 6:01 and it was seconded.
Old Business:
Easter egg hunt update. Thank you to the volunteers who are coordinating/helping. We bought eggs this year, so that was a one time expense.
Expense report was presented. !05 of 125 houses have paid dues.
Member Concerns:
Can we protect against or prevent rentals? Kim called the city and they advised against amending our by-laws to prohibit rentals. It opens us up to expensive lawsuits because it is discrimination.
New Business:
Discussion about raising dues. If we have two sets of dumpsters per year (fall and spring) our income exceeds our costs. It was decided to only have one set of dumpsters and not raise the dues. The two biggest expenses are mowing (we are responsible for the lawn between Maple and the houses) and the dumpsters. The third biggest is insurance, which we are required to have. The current board felt that it was important to keep our reserve high for unexpected items, such as the sprinkler system/well maintenance.
It was recommended to put the dumpster further back into the neighborhood to 1)allow it to be closer to different houses 2)discourage outside dumping. Nathan Brown (316-706-3027) offered to help anyone who might need help getting things to the dumpster.
By show of hands, the following new officers were voted in:
President – Kent Anderson
Vice President – Sandy Heaton
Secretary – Jacquelyn Johnston
Current officers retained:
Treasurer – Adrienne Brown
I.T. volunteer – Vicki Schrant
There were 23 people present.
Adjournment:
Meeting adjourned at 6:50.
